Two Weeks Old

Thanks to a recommendation from my cousin Melanie, Kiera has a new friend - the Fisher Price Seahorse. It does a great job soothing her.
We went to the doctor today for her two week checkup. Unfortunately it seems that breastfeeding is not going as well as I thought. Kiera has not regained her birthweight, so the doctor is having me supplement with an extra ounce at every feeding. We'll go in on Monday for a weight check and see how she is doing then.

The trip to the doctor was our first adventure out together (today was the first day I was "allowed" to drive since delivery). We ran a couple of errands and at our last stop, the lady who parked next to me told me there was a nail in my tire. Well, we were a block from Discount Tire and I had just fed Kiera at the doctor's office, so I went for it. She slept like a little angel while we waited for an hour to get the tire replaced!

Last night Kiera's umbilical cord stump fell off. I put it on the coffee table, but I think Max must have eaten it because it wasn't there in the morning - ha! Yesteday we enjoyed our first walk around the block in our subdivision. I love our stroller - the Graco SnugRider Infant Car Seat Stroller Frame. I use it all the time, no lugging around the pumpkin seat for me!

Karen she's precious!
Victoria's first friend was the sea glow horse too! It kept her company when we were displaced because of hurricane Ike!

I can't wait to meet her and glad to see you are all doing well. You look great too btw! :)

congrats again to you and Chris - you two did well!

She is so pretty! Don't be to discouraged about the weight gain, I know lot's of babies that aren't up to birth weight at 2 weeks. Just keep nursing as much as you can! Take care and call me anytime.

Great blog Karen. Glad to see you are so happy. I remember the birth of our son (2.5 years ago), like it was yesterday; such a great day.

We currently live in Europe and started a blog too. You can have a look when you get a chance. http://www.olsonseuropeanadventure.blogspot.com/

Best of luck to you.

She's super cute! Good for you for doing the labor drug free-wow. I couldn't imagine being that strong...Grayson ran into the same problem with not weighing enough-now we are feeding him every 3 hours-so hopefully he will gain back those 6 oz that he lost...I'm sure I could share some of my leftover weight with him!
