Catching up a bit here...
The weekend before last my friend Leah came to visit. Friday was supposed to be our girls' night - Chris was watching Kiera and we were going to go to dinner. When I went to pick her up at the airport a torrential downpour started. It diverted her flight to San Antonio. I tried to return home to wait, but the roads were starting to flood. So I returned to the airport, parked and waited for her in the airport bar. Three and a half hours later at 11:30pm, she arrived. So much for girls' night :(

Saturday Leah, Kiera and I went to Kemah. They had some Zydeco music playing and Leah got to have crawfish for the first time. We stopped at the fish market and got some shrimp and oysters. Chris grilled the shrimp and some hamburgers for us all for dinner and the weather was nice enough to eat outside and enjoy our roses and gardenia blooming.

Sunday Chris and Killian joined us and we went to the International Festival downtown Houston.

11 year old and 11 week old

Sleeping Baby
At the moment we have an 11 year old and a 11 week old. Crazy!
Kiera has been growing fast. She is starting to outgrow her clothes. And we had to order a larger swaddle blanket because she still likes to be swaddled at night (or maybe we like how well she sleeps when she's swaddled).

I made these legwarmers for Kiera out of some of my socks. I think they turned out cute. I was really excited when I found the directions for making them on the internet.

Kiera's current favorite place to be in the whole world is on her changing table. It doesn't seem to have much to do with having her diaper changed. As soon as we lay her down she starts smiling, laughing, kicking and "talking". It's so much fun. I think she likes how well she can see our faces from that perspective.

Lately she has been finding her hands. It's fun to see her stare at them. Then she slowly moves them to her mouth. Then she takes them out and stares at them some more.

Kiera and I tried mommy & me yoga for the first time last week. It went fairly well. Kiera was fussy about half of the time, but the other moms thought it was admirable for me to try and they said she would get more used to it each time.

Killian's 11th Birthday

Torrential rain and flooding kept us all inside last Saturday for Killian's birthday party. Kind of a bummer because Chris and I (mostly Chris) had been working on cleaning up the flower beds, the patio and the backyard for the party. So the kids played in Killian's room which is something he is not used to. The rain and flooding on our street actually kept some people at our house longer than they wanted to stay!

Killian asked for cash this year. He made out quite well. We thought he wanted to put it towards a Playstation 3, but last we asked he wants to put it in his savings account. Makes me proud!

Killian liked the Harry Potter wand that we gave him and decided to order another one with some of his money. He also loved his ice cream cake.

Two Months Old - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Isn't Kiera cute in her Easter dress?! She posed for me for about 3 minutes. Then I tried to get some with her and Killian and that was not happening. Hopefully some other time.

Kiera is now two months old! She weighs 12 pounds and is 23 and 3/4 inches long. She's gained almost 3 pounds and 4 inches since birth! Wow! She is in the 75th percentile for height and weight. Unfortunately immunizations come along with the two month checkup. She was sleepy and cuddly the rest of the day on Tuesday after her shots. By evening she was smiling again and she was mostly back to normal by Wednesday morning.

Kiera and I have been getting out a little more. We went to a playdate last week at another mom's house - met her and three other moms/babies for the first time. We've been getting out for lunch some. Next week we are going to try a mommy and me yoga class - signed up for 4 weeks of that. I'm excited.
Kiera has been smiling and cooing more and more. She likes to play with her activity gym and we've started to realize that sometimes when she cries, that is what she wants - to play with her toys. She is still a little fussy in the evenings. She likes to be held and snacks a lot.
